Why We Do What We Do

PEOPLE ARE THE MISSIONSecurity is and always will be about people. Protecting the people in your faith community isn’t just about theological concerns, but also includes their physical safety, security, and well-being. Making a safe place for congregants to attend, learn, grow, serve, and love is foundational for you to meet your God-given mission. The Bible is replete with references to God's protective love (Hesed) based on covenant faithfulness. He protects His people because He loves His people. We can do no less the same. While protecting His people He also invites others to join His people and by doing so, join Him. Providing a secure place to do so is vital to the success of His mission and yours. The greatest commandment is that people who follow Him would be a people who love Him and love others. That includes protecting people from harm and from those who would seek to do harm. It's all about the people. We provide protective intelligence strategies to succeed at our mission of protecting others so you can succeed at your mission of reaching and feeding them.

What We Do

PROTECTIVE MINISTRIESWe work with Houses of Worship to aid them in growing a Kingdom class Protective Ministry operation that provides real-world ministry opportunities while creating safety and security for your faith community. This includes coaching for developing, recruiting, and vetting your protective team.POST-INCIDENT INVESTIGATIONIn a broken world sometimes the unthinkable happens. Wounded and flawed people willingly choose to do wrong. This can be allegations of financial abuse, personal indiscretions, or general unwanted behavior. When those events happens to faith communities it can undermine trust in leadership and even erode faith.Houses of Worship need an outside objective party who can gather evidence, conduct professional investigations, and provide objective and evidence based information to faith leaders. Portico Protective can provide these vital investigative solutions.MINISTERIAL BACKGROUND VETTINGSelecting the right candidate for ministry is a vitally important task. Verifying a candidate’s call to ministry is more than just a matter of doctrine, ministry experience, or training but also must include character and integrity. Vetting candidates with a thorough background investigation can avoid many potential pitfalls for a faith community and lead to the right candidate for the health of the community.FRAUD PREVENTION, DETECTION, & ACCOUNTABILITY PROGRAMSAccountability in all areas, especially in financial matters, is paramount for religious organizations to safeguard and shepherd the generosity of the congregation. By implementing mandatory fraud prevention policies and safeguards, faith communities can protect the material assets of the congregation, maintain accountability, and be beyond financial reproach.DEFENSIVE STRATEGY & TACTICS INSTRUCTIONSometimes we must also wrestle with flesh and blood to control a situation for the safety of all. Learn physical management skills for controlling subjects, including one-on-one and team tactics. Learn how to deal with armed and unarmed subjects and handling escalation in an ethical and legal manner. Portico Protective provides subject matter experts in this vital and important area.
